IGN has recently updated their site with a new email they have gotten from Capcom.
It reads:
"Think you can win big on Terror Is Reality, Fortune City's spectacular zombie game show?" "It's you versus the undead with millions watching and baying for blood. Your blood, zombie blood, they don't care, it's all entertainment. It's glamour and gore. It's heroes and zeroes. Which one will you be?"
IGN goes on to speculate:
"Normally, a vague e-mail talking about an in-game zombie killing show doesn't make us crazy, but in the e-mail and after registering, we were presented with an image of four guys in similar-looking motorcycle suits. Hmm, is this "Terror Is Reality" a multiplayer mode for folks in Dead Rising 2? Are we just reading too much into this?"
It's true that this 'vague e-mail' appears to be empty on content, but it does help us construct the bigger picture. For example, months ago Capcom released a screenshot showing a signed picture of Chuck Greene with the words "TIR contestant". Some of us speculated that it was related to motocross but none of us would of guessed it stood for 'Terror is Reality'. This zombie game show also gives context behind the screenshot of the woman protesting for zombie rights.
Although IGN's speculation may lead us to think that this is multiplayer based only, this could be the opening for the game before the zombie invasion happens. However, it would be unfair to dismiss the multiplayer speculation because we do know that Inafune is interested in adding a twist to the multiplayer scene.
