Dead Rising producer Keiji Inafune has set the record straight on the current status of a sequel to Dead Rising for Xbox 360, confirming that a follow-up isn't currently in production. This puts the rumors to rest about all production news about Dead Rising 2; such as our last post.
However, it is a title under consideration at Capcom Japan.
In a recent interview with Game Informer, Inafune said "...we're not making it [Dead Rising 2] right now," but he did say it was something that he'd love to make.
"I would love to be able to take some time off from my business-side responsibilities just to be able to produce it myself - that's how much I love the game and would love to do it".
He added that it's only a possibility that he'd be working on a Dead Rising 2.
"If it was announced, I might be the one back in Japan making it. That's the title that they're considering back in Capcom Japan that I would want to produce the most, out of anything they're thinking about. That's how much I really love it. But I'm very busy", Inafune said.
