Below is a wishlist courtesy of IGN for Dead Rising 2. It is very similiar to the improvements we suggested a while back with a quite more additions that we may have left out. Discuss with other fans RIGHT NOW in our discussion forums about what you want to see in Dead Rising 2 and comment on other ideas and theories people have posted!

Multi-SKU
Gamers get in a fervor over exclusive titles, but we're going to take the nobler path here. Great games deserve to be experienced by as many people as possible. Dry your wetting eyes, 360 gamers, just because we think Dead Rising 2 should come to PS3 doesn't mean you won't also get to enjoy it. Sharing is a good thing. What matters is that Dead Rising 2 comes out. The emphasis shouldn't be on demanding it remain a 360 exclusive.

Make it Bigger
Dead Rising had the perfect setting. A mall is a great, enclosed space, filled with fun clothes and objects. For the first in the series, it made a lot of sense to keep the game confined to one environment. With the sequel, it's time to expand things. Forget just the mall, we want to enjoy the trappings of a small town. Dead Rising one used up a lot of the mall humor, so Dead Rising 2 can focus on the hilarity of the common American family. Imagine what objects (and horrible family secrets) you might find in any number of basements and attics.

With an open town, the environment can play a much larger factor in dealing death to zombies. Downed electrical wires and an open fire hydrant can make for some shocking encounters; we can finally determine if zombies explode when placed in a convection oven; and gamers can dress like Santa and earn the Ho! Ho! Ho Achievement/Trophy for pile-driving a zombie down a chimney.

Online Co-Op
What's better than killing thousands of zombies on your own? Doing it with a friend, of course. Co-op play certainly adds some strain to the system, but the joy that comes from ripping apart zombies with a friend is certainly worth the additional resources.

It's not enough to simply have a buddy along for the ride; we want co-op moves as well. It can be as simple as having one person hold a zombie in a full nelson while the other rips him apart with a weed whacker. Or perhaps a situation where one person launches a zombie in the air (say with a see-saw) and the other performs a leaping attack. Or you could get a little more disturbing and use two cars to draw and quarter a zombie.

Video Replays
Last time, you played as a photojournalist. You could take and save pictures and get points for them. A good idea, but we'll go one better. This time you're a videographer (oh no, zombies crashed my wedding!) with the ability to record short snippets of action. Replays can be saved to your hard drive and then uploaded to a website where users can toss on a rating. Videos are can be tagged for their content. This way, gamers can easily find the goriest, sexiest, or hilarious videos.

Greater Interaction with Objects
In the first Dead Rising, you could pick up most objects for use as a weapon. That was pretty much it. This time around, we want to see things opened up for gamers. Let our character be a bit of a MacGuyver, able to combine two objects to make something even deadlier. This would open up a lot of the creativity. Because, let's face it, the zombie genre has run dry on cool ways to execute the undead.

New Save System
Capcom has a love-affair with "save rarely" game systems. That works for a survival horror game such as Resident Evil, where you're meant to feel isolated and scared. But Dead Rising is about humor. It's a spoof. Saving should not be frustrating. While Capcom may not bend to our save anywhere wish, you should at least be able to save in any contained environment. Get in a house, clear it of zombies and then save your game in the bedroom -- or the bathroom. Don't hamper us with a limited save system that would limit exploration and creativity. If you're not afraid of losing two hours of progress, you're more likely to be adventurous.

Give Up on Escort Missions
Here is a note to all developers, not just the folks at Capcom: Escort missions suck and everyone hates them. It seems that escort missions are inevitable in Capcom's zombie games. While we'd prefer that these were just avoided altogether, if there are to be escort missions in Dead Rising 2, then they need a great deal of improvement.

There are two aspects of escort missions that drove us nuts in the first Dead Rising. First, the AI was not good. We're not suggesting that DR2 needs to feature a revolution in AI, but we want people to be able to take care of themselves at least a little bit. Even if you are scared to death, you should know how to avoid walking into trashcans and other obstacles. Secondly, if we have to direct people, give us a more intelligent system. Take a page from Ubisoft's Ghost Recon or Rainbow Six series. They manage to keep directions simple, but allow you to easily tell groups of people exactly where to move and (sometimes) how to behave.

Play as Zombies
One of the most important aspects of zombie lore is that zombies, much like vampires, like to switch humans over to their side. A zombie bite doesn't just mean death, it means you're going to join the undead. So rather than having your co-op partners die, let them instead turn into brain-munching zombies themselves. Turn this into a competitive multiplayer mode, a survival to the end. It begins as a co-op experience, with everyone against the zombies. But as members fall, it becomes more and more about the one against the many.

Plus, it leads to the great "Eat 1000 Brains" Achievement/Trophy.

Keep it Funny
Capcom has its serious zombie series in Resident Evil. Now that people are paying attention to Dead Rising, don't make the mistake of taking yourself too seriously, Capcom. Keep it funny. The humor is what made Dead Rising fun. Keep the story ridiculous, the combat simple and the gags plentiful.
