hello there, how are you? now that we got the greetings out of the way, let's start the topic!

i have been sleeping over this and checking out some information on dead rising 1, did you remember the music themes? not the composed tracks by Hideki Okugawa and Marika Suzuki. i mean the songs that played during the boss battle, when you play dead rising, you see a psychopath like steven or cliff or even the convicts, you you listen to the music? i know you listen to lifeseeker, but what about the other songs? here are the names of the bands that was featured in dead rising in psychopath battle.

The Evolutionaries?
Lockjaw?
Hostile Groove?

does any of these names pop up in you're head when you think dead rising? nope! there are just minor popular bands and the only reason we know about them is because they we're in the soundtrack.

y'know how Guitar hero and Rock band got all those popular artist in their setlist while adding some unknown bands? dead rising adds mostly the unknown kind of artists. let's take a looks at Hostile Groove. here is the image of the band:

ok, the information i'm about to tell you guys is for the most part: thin. i'm dead serious, there's almost no information on this band! they are a complete mystery! here is what i found out on their myspace page:

"HOSTILE GROOVE is an aggressive metal trio with an arsenal of gut-thrusting screams, staccato rhymes, and a rhythm section that is ripping rooftops off of L.A. clubs" ~ Music Biz Magazine

"Currently supporting their debut full length CD Unleash The Massattack, Hostile Groove takes no prisoners with their brutal sound and live shows that explode upon impact" ~ Music Connection Magazine

and that's it, they are aggresive metal trio. but from what i found out, their genre is a cross-over with groove metal, nu-metal, rapcore, thrash metal and alternative metal. the real genre can be debated over

that's it. i also went on their official website, there was rarely information from 2010, in fact, they don't even have 2009 info, or 2008, or 2007. you know when their last update was? 4 years ago! yes, the last update was on 2006 where they said that an upcomming EP, one of the song we're called Diablo's Fire. there was a video teaser with that song, and that's it, after or somwhere in 2006 the band disappeared from the face of earth, no joke, the video ma be from 2007, but never happened, the news where their song was going to be on dead rising was from 2006, they may have left the music industry after the release. i don't know if they ran out of time, or songs, or just gave up on the band, no one has heard from them in almost 4 years.

here's a funny little fact: the singer only known as "Shootie HG of Hostile Groove" made the soundtrack to Devil May Cry 4! and that's it! that's the last information i manage to find about the band members!

but then i discovered something. i bought their CD "unleash the massattack" and as it turns out, the cd has some bonus features! including a short discography from 1995-2003
-------

-------
after that, there's nothing else, only a couple of pics and videos that doesn't work! this band is a compete mystery, from 2003 - today. almost unheard of. the only reason i know about them is that one of their songs we're in dead rising, so sad that the only think people will remember you for is that one little song you made.

what do you think? leave responses below!

I've notice that Dead rising chose bands that arn't very well known.

Lifeseeker, back when the game came out only had 1 album and it didn't seem very popular to most until dead rising came out

Hostle Groove, I am surprised that they arn't more well known. It's a very good band.

and the Evalutionaries are really good too, though I can only get one song..

I think the devs might of just choose lesser known bands to be more unique and it gives the bands some.

But it is surprising to hear Hostle groove just vanished <.< I liked them a lot..

Nice info! I'll probably buy a CD of theirs. I love the Dead Rising soundtrack. Hostile Groove seem pretty cool. A little scream-y, but overall I like their songs in Dead Rising. Fly Routine fits the fight with Steve perfectly.

i have ben doing some reserach and i was lucky to find a website that is runned by shootie HG from Hostile groove
http://www.shootiehg.com/

turns out he also did the soundtrack for not only devil may cry 3 but also devil may dry 4 and a game called the eye of judgement! HOLY SHIT, he did the soundtrack for a ps3 cardgame! he even has a sideproject with another unkown band called hell hath no fury, i was searching on googla and ifound a wikipedia page on a band with the same name but is more of a hip-hip duo. i even checked another band on last fm with the same name that is more of a four piece girl band.

the website even have upcomming events in the us, but it only has the 2009 and no 2010. there is a page where you can contack his studio: massattack records. i found that name very familiar. so ichecked my cd collection and found my mandragora scream album, but i was wrong. it was massacre records, not massattack.

you can still contack him.

Questions or comments, please e-mail me at shootiehg@hotmail.com.

on the contack page there is also a lot of links to other websites.

here's something interesting:

while i was uploading this i was looking for him on steam, it's still searching, if the 1st name fails then i'll ty the second! i'm gonna send an email to him really soon and ask what happend to the ep and the band.
